Amanda is a registered Occupational Therapist with a strong passion for pediatric practice. She attended Queen’s University for her undergraduate and professional studies, earning her Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology in 2015 and her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2017. Amanda was inspired to the profession of occupational therapy by one of her early work experiences as a camp counsellor for children with physical and developmental disabilities. She continues to be inspired every day as she works therapeutically with pediatric clients and their families to help them master new skills and achieve more independence with daily activities.
Amanda worked in school-based pediatrics in the Niagara region before relocating to Ottawa and joining Lori Howell, OT & Associates in 2019. She currently travels within Ottawa and surrounding regions to provide treatment to children in their homes and schools. Amanda has experience treating concerns related to fine- and gross-motor skills, pre-printing skills, handwriting, activities of daily living, sensory regulation, and social skills. She has attended Handwriting Without Tears training workshops and has completed Social Thinking® Level 1 Clinical Training. Outside of her clinical work, Amanda enjoys taking Zumba classes, playing the ukulele, and spending time with her family.
