
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Maya Weinberg is a current student at the University of Ottawa, pursuing a degree in Biomedical Sciences with a minor in Psychology. She is drawn to the role of occupational therapy assistant by her passion for helping others build independence, confidence, and quality of life through supportive care. Maya has worked extensively with children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities through roles as a camp counselor, after school counsellor, and dance teacher. She is involved in Best Buddies, a program that fosters friendship and leadership opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, and S.W.A.M. Ottawa, which provides accessible swimming lessons for children with disabilities. She plans to apply to Occupational Therapy Masters programs after completing her undergraduate studies. In her free time, Maya enjoys reading, baking, and travelling.
